Luxury Car Rental in Chennai
Chennai runs on two axes — the OMR IT corridor and the Guindy–Nungambakkam business core — and the north-east monsoon can take both out for a morning. Luxury bookings here need drivers with a flood map in their head and a control tower watching the day. Commutec runs chauffeur-driven luxury rentals across Chennai with pre-loaded monsoon reroutes and pre-staged MAA greets.

Chennai bands are at the national average. October–December monsoon days carry no surcharge, but we build extra buffer into departure times rather than pricing the risk in. Indicative contracted bands for chauffeur-driven bookings, valid across metro cities. Tolls, parking, inter-state permits, airport entry charges and driver night-halt allowances are pass-through at actuals. GST 5% applies on the standard package without input tax credit; 12% with ITC is available on request. Marquee and event-date bookings are quoted individually.

The fleet, by class
We publish classes rather than a single 'luxury' label, because the price gap between a 5 Series and an S-Class is bigger than the gap between a hatchback and a Fortuner. You book the class you need, and the exact model is confirmed in writing before the day.
- Luxury sedan — Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Toyota Camry. The default for executive movement, airport runs and city meetings.
- Luxury SUV — Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90. Higher seating, better on long airport runs and rough approach roads.
- Ultra-luxury — Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Range Rover. Board days, chairman movement, investor and delegation visits.
- Marquee — Rolls-Royce Ghost, Bentley Flying Spur, Maybach S 580, on request with lead time. Weddings, brand launches, protocol movement.
- Premium Indian SUV — Fortuner, Innova Hycross, XUV700. The workhorse class when the brief is comfort and presence rather than badge.
- Luxury people mover — Mercedes V-Class, Toyota Vellfire, Innova Crysta. Groups of four to seven travelling together without splitting cars.

Frequently asked questions
How much does luxury car rental cost in Chennai?
About ₹12,000–16,000 for 8hr/80km on a Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series, ₹18,000–24,000 for a luxury SUV and ₹28,000–42,000 for an S-Class. A luxury sedan MAA airport transfer runs ₹7,500–10,000 one way.
What happens on a heavy monsoon day?
We pre-load waterlogging maps for Velachery, Madipakkam, Mudichur and the OMR service roads, run a reroute matrix and shift departure windows earlier. You get a proactive advisory from the control tower rather than a call after the car is stuck.
Can you cover Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram trips?
Yes. Mahabalipuram is about 90 minutes on the ECR and Pondicherry three hours. Both bill per km with a daily minimum, and the ECR route is one where a luxury sedan is genuinely comfortable the whole way.
Are the cars self-drive or chauffeur-driven?
Chauffeur-driven is standard for every class we run. Chauffeurs are police-verified, carry a valid commercial badge and are briefed on the building, hotel or venue before the booking. Self-drive is available on selected premium classes in a few cities with corporate KYC, but not on ultra-luxury or marquee cars.
Can we book a luxury car for a wedding or a family event?
Yes. Weddings, engagements, milestone birthdays and family functions are routine bookings. Wedding dates are held as full days, decoration is allowed on agreed terms, and we confirm the car model and colour in writing rather than promising a category and substituting on the day.
How does GST work on luxury car rental?
The standard rate is 5% without input tax credit on the package. A 12% option with ITC is available and usually works out better for companies that can offset it. We can quote both so finance picks. Invoices are raised to your legal entity with cost-centre tagging, not to the traveller.
Can we rent a luxury car monthly instead of per day?
Yes. Monthly programmes with a dedicated car and a named chauffeur are typically 25–40% cheaper per day than ad-hoc booking once you cross about 12–15 days of use a month. These are common for visiting leadership, expat deployments and long project postings.
